Relational
The relationship between us is part of the work. You can expect someone who listens closely, is straight with you, and doesn’t judge.
Taking new clients · Online & in Bristol
I work with adults who feel stuck, stretched thin or knocked off course. We go at your pace, in plain language, with room for both the practical and the painful.
“You don’t need to have the words yet. That’s what we’re here to find.”
Is this for you?
You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to start therapy. Feeling that something needs to change is reason enough.
Not sure if we’d be a good fit? That’s what the free call is for.
How I work
I’m trained in several approaches and use what helps, rather than fitting you to a method.
The relationship between us is part of the work. You can expect someone who listens closely, is straight with you, and doesn’t judge.
CBT-informed tools for anxiety, sleep and overthinking, so you leave sessions with something to try as well as something to think about.
We go at a pace that feels safe. You choose what we talk about, and you can always say “not today”.
About me
Before training as a counsellor I spent ten years in the charity sector, so I know what it’s like to care about your work and still feel run down by it. I’ve been in private practice since 2014, working with adults from all walks of life.
Clients tell me I’m calm, a bit funny, and good at noticing the thing underneath the thing. I’m LGBTQ+ affirming and I welcome neurodivergent clients.
What to expect
A relaxed chat by phone or video. You tell me a little about what’s going on, ask anything you like, and we see if it feels right.
We talk about what brings you here and what you’d like to be different. There’s no pressure to commit to more.
Usually weekly, at the same time. We check in every six sessions on how it’s going and whether to change anything.

Questions
It depends on what you bring. Some people come for six to eight sessions with a specific focus; others stay longer to work on deeper patterns. We’ll review together regularly, and you can stop whenever you want.
Yes, with a few limits I’ll explain in our first session: if I believe you or someone else is at serious risk of harm, or if the law requires me to share information. I’d always try to talk to you first.
Both work well. Online suits busy schedules and people who feel more at ease at home. Some people prefer the separation of coming to a room. You can switch between them.
Please tell me. The fit between you and your therapist matters more than almost anything else. If I’m not the right person, I’ll help you find someone who might be.
I’m registered with several insurers. Check with yours whether you need a referral first, and I’ll send you everything they need.
